The Variable Sea

No one has yet been lost to the Variable Sea, but it could happen all too easily. Generally speaking, the Sea is quite a nice place, with beaches and pleasant surf rolling out over the sand one wave after the other. The bird life is spectacular too. But it suffers from Sea Change. Every twelve hour and twenty-five minutes the Variable Sea shifts to something else, usually another sea but now and then a lake or sometimes even a pond.

When the dogs first visit there, that’s what they see: But then it’s time for a Sea Change, and the pond is replace by a sea.

Rove’s Lodge is located high on a cliff above the Variable Sea. Here is where Rangers and Rangers-in-training go for holidays.
